The ship engine is a ship part, an antimatter-powered engine capable of launching a ship into orbit and on interstellar trajectories.

Acquisition

Ship engines can be constructed once the Johnson-tanaka drive research project has been completed. Each requires Steel 260 Steel, Plasteel 140 Plasteel, Uranium 70 Uranium, Advanced component 6 Advanced componentss, 50,000 ticks (13.89 mins) of work, and a Construction skill of 8.

Summary

A ship needs three engines to be able to launch. It serves no other purpose. It can function under a roof.

Analysis

You can delay building ship engines until the ship reactor is fully activated. This can reduce wealth, and therefore raid points.
