lol. You could just place stacks of 75 steel instead. I mean, yeah that method would work, but only for lvl 20. Where are you going to get a lvl 1 crafter that stays at lvl 1 for 10000 shivs? You'd have to mod the game to take away experience increase and decay as well. And mod in a story teller that doesn't send any events. And colony manager. And you'd have to start again for each skill lvl, or your old stock skews the results.

10000 shivs per level. 200000 shivs to make. That's ridiculous. It's not worth it. Especially not when it's so easy to calculate, which is still more accurate. It uses normal distribution to determine a quality level, you can use the normal distribution to precisely calculate that chance.

At level 20, you have a 3,28841186591639% chance to make a legendary item, and an 11,6285831671818% chance for a masterwork. Feel free to check the excel file linked on the reddit thread, that's why I uploaded it.
