Prison breaks will eventually atrit prisoner populations to nothing. Leg removal via installing peg legs and removing them will prevent breaks, but also prevent them from being able retrieve meals from stockpiles or [[nutrient paste dispenser]]s meaning they'll have to be manually fed by colonists to prevent starvation.
