I will have a look at that picture when im not at work, as it is blocked. They were never joined on my screen either at any point. The main problem is they arn't actually borders of boxes they're undelines of the header class. I can look into changing the Text settings and border settings of the boxes if you think it will look better.

Ok i opened it up in firefox and saw the issues. Sorry im an IE guy which is aweful as IE is probably the worst for testing :P i have updated the in table styles and changed some widths.
+
I havn't changed the width settings, it still pulls to 100%. Im not sure what you mean when you say it no longer makes use of wide screen, i have a 1080p screen and it is the full width. the 10% buffer on the right just aligns the screen the table to the center. It will make it look even.
* The intro text is now same width as the table bellow section.
+
I have placed some style peramiters in comment sections that if you take out will show you the table borders. from there you can shrink and expand the window to see what the tables are doing.
** Link sections reduced to compensate
+

* The top tables width is now 100% maximising on larger res screens.
+
The intro text area is actually bigger than it was before, previously it was around 32% of the screen now its around 38%, im not sure as to how big you want it. It can be made half the width if needed but the links may feel squished in.
* Logo aligned to center for FF and Safari
+
EDIT: I opened it up in firefox to see what the deal was. I forget that i shouldnt work form IE but its all i use really. Anyways i have added styles that should hopefully pull the tables to the width and center the logo, sorry!
