Stone walls are fire proof and highly resistant damage, the trade-off being that they cannot carry power between two points. Stone walls are very effective when used as fortifications, and acting as support pillars for oversized rooms that would collapse in the middle otherwise.
Stone walls appear naturally in the world, though these can not be deconstructed or repaired like the walls you build, they must instead be mined, and have the same drops as regular stone.
