The '''Ruffle Shirt''' is a clothing item added in the [[Royalty DLC]]. [[Titles|Nobles]] of Esquire rank and above require either one of these, or a [[Psyfocus shirt]], to consider themselves properly dressed and avoid a negative moodlet.

== Acquisition ==
As a complicated garment, Ruffle Shirts can only be made at [[Hand-tailoring bench|tailoring]] [[Electric tailoring bench|benches]], which requires [[Research#Complex Clothing|complex clothing]] & [[Research#Noble Apparel|Noble Apparel]] to be researched in order to be constructed. A Ruffle Shirt requires 45 of any textile, and 3000 units of work.
It can also be found on [[Empire#Pawns|Imperial Nobles]], for sale at traders and as a quest reward.

== Analysis ==
The Ruffle Shirt is a strong contender for the shirt slot. Compared to the [[button-down shirt]] and [[t-shirt]], it takes somewhat longer to make and weighs more, but it shares the better coverage and material cost of the button-down and provides even better cold resistance. Additionally pawns won't require an apparel changes when they gain titles. 

While upgrading from the t-shirt to the button-down is highly recommended due to the better coverage, unless there is a dire need for the additional insulation, upgrading from the button down to the ruffle shirt is less important. However, should Noble Apparel already be researched there is little reason not to switch any new shirt production to the Ruffle Shirts.
