In terms of effectiveness, a Fleshmass Stomach is a side grade to the [[Bionic stomach]]. Offering no chance for food poisoning over the increased efficiency from the bionic. However, the Fleshmass Stomach is effectively a free upgrade, requiring only to wait for the cooldown and patience with the RNG. For colonists with the masochist trait or a colony with the Idealized Pain Precept, the pain that comes from the Fleshmass Stomach might even make it preferable to a Bionic Stomach.
