Alpacas are medium-sized herd animals very similar to llamas. They produce alpaca wool, and can be sheared in intervals of one quadrum. When butchered, they provide 90 alpaca meat and 25 alpacahide. They can be found in arid shrubland, temperate forest, and tropical rainforest, and can eat vegetables, seeds, live plants, meals, processed foods, liquor, and kibble.

Taming

Alpacas can be tamed wild, randomly join your colony in an event, or bought pre-tamed from a trading ship.

Production

Alpacas can be sheared once every 15 days, and when sheared they give 120 pieces of alpaca wool worth 720 silver. The ease of maintaining alpacas combined with the high market value and usefulness of its clothing (250% hot/cold) makes alpaca farming a lucrative option for any colony.

Training
